Taking a Ride

Well, yesterday ended up being a beautiful day here in north-central France. We first thought it was supposed to rain, but we were pleasantly surprised when we awoke to sunshine and warmth. Katie and I jumped on our bicycles and tried to make our way over the hills and through the woods to see an old château. Like most men, I am superb in my directional ability. However, somehow my antenna got a little out of whack, and we ended up stopping to stare at a little map at the corner of town. Surprisingly, a man on a motorcycle drove up and asked if he could help. He was very nice and even pointed out to us some other bicycle trails that we did not yet know of. We finally made our way to an old abbey from the 17th century. It was a great bicycle ride but after five hours of riding up and down hills, we were both ready to go home. Instead of riding all the way back to Massy, we took the lazy man's way and jumped on the train. All in all, it was a good day.
